Get to Know Me Better

I invite you to learn more about my life.

About Me

I am a volunteer member of our local Crescent Valley Volunteer Fire Department here in Crescent Valley, NV.

In addition, I am currently employed with Eureka County EMS as an AEMT, AEMT instructor, and AHA BLS CPR instructor.

I graduated from Grand County High School in Moab, Utah, in 1981. From Junior High to High School, I participated in several sports including fastpitch softball, basketball, and track & field as a discus thrower.

After graduating high school, I joined the US Army and earned my Army Airborne Jump Wings in Fort Benning, Georgia, in 1982. I was then stationed and did my first tour of duty in Baumholder, Germany. During this tour, I participated in various sports teams to include women’s basketball and track & field. I also tried out for the women’s slow-pitch softball team.

A huge highlight for me was when the Harlem Globetrotters came to Baumholder to play against the women’s basketball team. For roughly 3-4 minutes, I was actually on the court with the Globetrotters. I grew up watching them, and I knew that if I wanted to play basketball, I needed to learn how to dribble like Frederick “Curly” Neal!

As for my personal life, I have been married and divorced three times. I have seven children, four children of my own and three stepchildren, all of whom are grown-ups. Presently, I have nine grandchildren.

One of my favorite mottos is: “I will never grow up.” It is not that I will never get old, but I want to remain young and happy at heart and have fun.

Please contact my office in Crescent Valley, Nevada, today to learn more about me, Catherine Sampson, a candidate Running for 2nd Congressional District for Nevada.
